A second season of the sci-fi mecha anime series Synduality: Noir is set to premiere in Japan on January 8, 2024, according to the anime’s official website. Bandai Namco Entertainment’s Synduality project also includes a game called Synduality: Echo of Ada and a spin-off novel titled Synduality: Kaleido, which are part of the series.
It is set 20 years after the timeline of the game in 2242, when humanity was forced to seek shelter underground because of “Tears of the New Moon.” The anime follows the story of a group of characters who venture back towards the surface after the underground city-state of “Amasia” collapsed.
An 11-second preview video featuring some of the characters from the anime, including Ciel, Ellie, Kanata, Maria, and Mystere, was released on September 26, 2023, on the anime’s official website. According to the website, the second cour will be released in January 2024, during the Winter 2024 anime season. Fans were given a glimpse of what to expect in the upcoming episodes in the “main trailer” released on December 20, 2023.
A number of notable voice actors have previously been announced for the anime, including Yoshitsugu Matsuoka, Ayane Sakura, and Yoko Hikasa. The franchise’s game, Synduality: Echo of Ada, will release in 2024 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. It takes place in 2222, while the anime takes place in 2242 20 years later.
